Service Taxes and Fees
Digis will begin to collect the required taxes
and fees beginning June 1, 2008. These include 911 service fees,
state, local and municipal taxes, and the Federal Universal Service
Fund fee. These taxes and fees will range from about $5-$6 per
month, depending on the city in which you live. The fees will be
detailed for you on your monthly bill.
911 Recovery
Fee, State 911 Fee and Poison Control Fee: The Emergency 911
Recovery Fees and Poison Control Fee apply to each voice line in
your account. These fee are used to recover costs directly associated
with developing, implementing and maintaining a nationwide and
local E911 and poison control services in compliance with FCC regulations.
State Sales & Use Tax: These are state, local and municipal
taxes that are collected based on the city you live in.
Municipal Telecom Tax: This tax is assessed based on the city
you live in.
Federal Universal Service Fund: The Universal Service Fund is
a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program designed to ensure
the availability of affordable telecommunications services to schools,
libraries and rural healthcare facilities; it also serves to subsidize
local service in high-cost areas and low-income households. This
fee is based on a quarterly percentage that is assessed by the
